How to play Binary Puzzle

Try Binary Puzzle at your own pace and keep its objective in view. Fill a 6×6 grid with balanced zeroes and ones, no three equal neighbours, and no duplicate rows or columns. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls. Begin with the solo mode shown on the page. Use the example below to understand a decision.

Choose from ten 6×6 puzzles. Undo changes or reveal a selected cell when you need help.

Build a steady rhythm

Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round. Keep the objective visible.

Your goal

Fill a 6×6 grid with balanced zeroes and ones, no three equal neighbours, and no duplicate rows or columns. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. Return to the instructions when a step is unclear.

Step by step

  1. Select an editable square.
  2. Enter 0 or 1; each line needs three of each.
  3. Avoid three consecutive equal values horizontally or vertically.
  4. Check puzzle validates balance, triples and unique lines.

Controls

Click or tap squares or graph edges. Number boards include a digit pad. Undo reverses the previous change; Check puzzle validates the solution. A careful first action helps you become familiar with the layout. A new-round button replaces the current round.

A useful example

A row beginning 0 0 needs 1 next. Compare this with the rule that governs the move. Choose a deliberate next step.

Watch out for this

Balanced rows may still duplicate each other. Compare the situation with the worked example. After a move, check what changed. Decide which rule explains the new state before acting again.
